I hope the July Fourth weekend treated you right. The weather was gorgeous and everyone was in the best of moods. There is nothing to complain about there. As the summer rolls on, so does the Reel. Plenty of good things up ahead but there is one thing that concerns me. That thing happens to be fall dates for shows and albums. To think the fall is starting to fill up with some great shows, it seems like summer is almost over. But we have to stay positive and get on with the Reel.

Tyondai Braxton Has a Video of his Solo Effort
This might not take your mind off of the lack of Battles in your life, but it is something to tide us over. Battles’ lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Tyondai Braxton is doing his solo thing. The album, Central Market, is slated for a September release. We now have our first listen to what the sound of the album might be, and it is a total headtrip. The sound is all over the place, the energy is frantic and yet it something uniquely melodic. Some crazy stuff is in store for us.
Central Market Tracklisting:
1. Opening Bell
2. Uffe’s Woodshop
3. The Duck and the Butcher
4. Platinum Rows
5. Unfurling
6. J. City
7. Dead Strings
