Love Lily Allen. I can’t wait for her new album to come out this week! And if you haven’t jumped on the Lily Allen bandwagon yet (seriously, what’s wrong with you?) Now’s your chance. She’s practically giving the thing away!

It’s Not Me, It’s You, Lily’s second album, is being released on Tuesday via an online promotion sponsored by MySpace and Amazon.com. You’ll be able to purchase the album for $3.99 until February 16. After that, the price will rise to somewhere between $10-20.
Can I just say that I love this new trend?
Seems like everyone is debuting albums either for free, or at bargain basement prices. It’s a win-win situation. Nine Inch Nails is also a big fan of this technique. As is Sigur Ros. Last year I was able to sample their single “Goblidigook” au gratis before the album’s release.
And then of course, there’s Radiohead. Their “pay what you want” approach to In Rainbows was a huge success. To date, it has sold 1.2 million copies- roughly 200,000 more units than Hail to the Thief.
Well.
For once I have nothing to complain about.
I guess the music industry isn’t all bad, after all.
So – I hope you enjoy the new album. I’m sure I will. Once you’ve had a listen, drop me a note – I’d love to hear your thoughts.
