Following the release of their top ten Red Album, Weezer has announced their upcoming tour schedule dates in the U.S. and Canada.
Kicking off in non-other than Boston, MA on Sep. 23, the show has been promised to be as sweet as the cream pie for which the town was named. The tour will consist of 20 additional dates ranging from the east coast to the west coast and back down to the dirty dirty concluding in ATL on Oct. 25.
The Red Album is widely considered to be the band’s boldest, and spent a whopping 11 weeks at #1 at Modern Rock radio (the longest such feat of any 2008 album). The tracks consist of the ever so typical and nostalgic lyrics from Rivers Cuomo, but also adds that sex appeal the Jonas’ Brothers have failed to grasp, despite their whole-hearted efforts.
The slated openers for the North American tour included Warped Tour headliners Angels and Airwaves and the wicked 4-piece band Tokyo Police Club.
