It’s my Birthday today, and I’m 26. I’m on the old side of Twenty, and I’m never going back. So I’ve made the decision that I’m gonna post whatever I want to today. I hope you enjoy, but really, I don’t care if you do, because this post is for ME.
Being friends with your favorite bands is awesome, because you get access to songs that may never see the light of day. Sam Sundos, of The Sundelles, sent me this little ditty a week back. It was record a couple years ago when Sam was still living the West Coast lifestyle, and I think it could be the best thing they’ve ever recorded. It’s called “Your Favorite Thing,” and it drips with malice. Production is top notch too.

The Obits were on Jimmy Fallon last night. I don’t know what song they played, but this is my favorite Obits tune, off of I Blame You, one of the best albums of the year.

Lastly, I recently downloaded a smattering of MP3s of Sonic Youth covering various songs, and their version of The Beach Boys’ “I Know There’s An Answer” really stuck out.

I’ll leave you with this video from Pitchfork.tv involving many of my favorite people: No Age, Bob Mould, Bradford Cox and Jim Jarmusch. Enjoy.
