► Dam-Funk / Toeachizown – (electro-funk/boogie) / Released 10/26/09
When I listen to anything by Dam-Funk aka “The Ambassador of Boogie Funk” all I can think about: drop-tops and do-rags on a lazy summer afternoon. Think back to the scene from “Menace II Society” where dude rolls up in his drop-top Mustang, bumping Zapp’s “Computer Love?” That’s this shit! Picking up where Zapp left off, the L.A. king releases Toeachizown (Stones Throw), a noteworthy mix of mostly instrumental funk, swag, boom bap and simply put…good funkin’ music.

► Uzul / Under Pressure #1 EP – (dubstep/grime) / Released 9/7/09
A tag-line for Under Pressure could be: Parisian dubstep remixed by the dubstep king. With influences from old school dub to lo-fi electro, Lyon-based producer Uzul (Stephane Bernard) drops a two-single EP Under Pressure #1 (Dub Technic/Expressillon) with a banging remix by that dude, SKREAM. Get ready to “Rumble Inna Station.”
