VIDEO BLITZ: INDEPENDENCE EDITION

by charles poladian

Enough talk of the summer, I figure I am jinxing it. Let’s talk turkey, or BBQ, and fireworks. Are you booked? Any plans?  If you do, or even if you don’t, music will be prevalent no matter where you go. With that being said, I think I have said enough and the Blitz needs to progress forward. To get us going, here are three fresh tracks for your firework brain.

Artist: Fool’s Gold

Dirty Projectors Believe in “Stillness”

The latest Dirty Projectors album, Bitte Orca, has been garnering some rave reviews (including a rave review over at QC) and now we can get a glimpse of their new music video for “Stillness is the Move”. Not much going on here, just the band, some choreographed dancing, and vibrant green landscapes. But that’s OK as it does not detract from the strength of the song. Acting as a springboard, the video does a great job. See for yourself.

Eels Are “In My Dreams”

Check out this crazy calm, but silky smooth song. The video is a great lycanthrope romp of an adventure. I think 2009 is the year of the werewolf much like 2008 was all about vampires. Check out the video below.

Maximo Park Concert

Grandcrew does a beautiful job in picking great bands and shooting a perfect concert experience. The latest from the Crew is for Maximo Park’s Paris show. Check out the concert festivities below.

Holiday Shores Say “Phones Don’t Feud”, People Do

New single from their debut Columbus’d The Whim out on August 4th. The video is shrouded in darkness with flashes of illumination. The song has that jangling guitar I like so much but just a little noisier, a little sloppier adding an unexpected layer to the proceedings.
