Arguably the biggest American festival, Coachella’s headliners in ‘09 are Sir Paul McCartney, The Killers, and The Cure. Below them are a who’s-who of music featuring Leonard Cohen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Morrissey, My Bloody Valentine, The Orb, Franz Ferdinand, Chemical Brothers, TV On the Radio, the list goes on and on. The promise of 100+ bands all converging to play in one place is an amazing event. The people, sights, sounds, beer, food–it’s just an overwhelming, and some might say religious, experience.

From the dizzying high of all the great acts, comes the terrifying low that some of these shows will be battling each other due to overlapping time slots. Coachella just announced their set times, so our immediate inclination was to highlight some of the more intriguing stage battles. We’re running a series of polls to put you on the hypothetical spot. Don’t be that guy and say you’ll go to half of one and half of the other, because you’ll be cheating yourself, watching the clock on the first set and getting stuck in the back for the second set. So get bold, get judgmental, harness your inner music snob, and make the call. Who would you choose in the QC Coachella Wars? Coachella is this weekend, in case you temporarily forgot.

hells yeah!!!!!!
all no brainers for me
Some of these are waayyy closer than I’d expect, and I’m disappointed that Public Enemy is gettin beat by so much. The Cure? Meh
its all because of flavor flave. who wants to see him anymore?
I saw gang gang dance open for of Montreal. I don’t think I could sit through a whole set, the songs run into one another and they don’t even acknowledge the crowd. The over MSTRKRFT
