The cleanest voice in Norway is set to drop her third full length album on May 12th. Hanne Hukkelberg’s new record is titled Blood From A Stone and will be released via Nettwerk. It’s her first full length since Rykestrasse 68 in 2006, which followed her legendary debut Little Things. A North American tour is being planned for June 2009 and will undoubtedly include a NYC stop. The new disc apparently includes more rock than her past recordings but you can always expect smooth vocals and varied instrumentation from Hukkelberg. According to the presser, “the bulk of her vocals are first takes, and her lyrics are more direct and less introverted than on previous albums.” Damn, I like introverted lyrics! But I’ll happily accept a more rock-filled record in this day in age, with music blunting it’s edge and the globe (including myself) succumbing to electro pop and ambient choruses.
