I’ve been on hiatus for the past couple of weeks. Please forgive me, I’ve been busy …
Knitting.

Yeah, knitting. I wish I could say I’ve been doing something interesting, but I haven’t. I just get lazy sometimes. I’m human, right? It happens.
Every night I’ve been coming home and, terrified of the howling wind outside, I’ve been planting my ass on the couch and knitting until my wrists seize up. Fortunately for me, I have a cat named AJ who gives it to me straight. Last night he walked into the room, sat on my lap and told me to stop being so damn lazy.
“You should probably stop making ugly scarves,” he said, “And get back to your writing.”
As usual, AJ is right. I get distracted way too easily. It is my curse. I’d like to apologize for not contributing lately, and also for being extremely selfish. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been enjoying some really great music and I haven’t been sharing it with you.
I have a lot to tell you about. First on my list of music you must listen to is a band out of Vancouver called Wintermitts.

Their music is a kaleidoscope of colorful sounds and it is absolutely divine. I’m not sure what genre I’d place this band into because the music is just so diverse but if pressed, I’d classify it as poppy-folksy-fun.
And don’t even get me started on Lise Monique’s voice. It is absolutely gorgeous, and the seamless way she shifts between French and English is, for lack of a better word and because my French sucks, magnifique. Their songs are rather addictive - one quick listen is almost impossible, because Wintermitts will have you hitting the repeat button over and over again.
Click here to purchase their latest CD and visit their website for upcoming gigs. They’re currently making the rounds, promoting their album. Since their formation four years ago, the band has developed quite the following here in Canada. I’m sure the same will happen South of the border, hopefully soon.
How could it not?
They’re just too damn catchy.
Check them out, ok?
