The Sway Machinery, a Brooklyn-based Supergroup composed of members of Antibalas, Balkan Beat Box, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Arcade Fire led by Jeremiah Lockwood, is set to perform tonight at Southpaw. Previously dubbed the funkiest Bar Mitzvah band on the planet, Lockwood channels his grandfather’s spiritual vibes (legendary Jewish Cantor Jacob Konigsberg) during every show. The Sway Machinery will simultaneously rock you and transport you to another world. The musicianship on display is some of the best you will ever witness, and the presentation is highly unique. Whenever this band performs, it’s a special occasion not to be missed.
