MISS FAIRCHILD WON’T BE YOUR KEPT WOMAN

by kevin diamond

Anyone else feeling funky in this oddly warm Autumn? I don’t mean funky like skunked beer, but funky like Pants Off Dance Off. If your November surprise seems to be the need to dance, I’ve got just the band. Miss Fairchild hail from my home town of Nantucket, and they’re essentialy the former-whaling-capital-of- the-world’s house band. They just self-released a new EP, Won’t Be Your Kept Woman, and it’s more of the same Earth-shattering, house-quaking, James Brown bangin, Prince lovin’, Morris Day And The Time demolishing homespun pop you’ve come to expect, nay, demand from this group. Frontman Daddy Wrall croons like he’s got it all on the line, and previously-interviewed Sammy Bananas keeps the beat moving. Just listen to the song, already. I’ve wasted enough of my time trying to clue you fools in. Let the music do the talking, right?
