One hip-hop outfit to stand the test of time has been Cypress Hill. Their latin infused brand of hip-hop, alternative, rock and reggae recently earned them a VH1 Hip Hop Honor award along with De La Soul, Naughty By Nature and Slick Rick. The face of Cypress Hill has always been lead lyricist, B-Real. Real has done some solo collaborations over the years with artists ranging from Chino Moreno of the Deftones to Busta Rhymes. This winter fans of Real will be elated to know he is releasing Smoke N Mirros his first true solo album. “Mirrors” is due February 24th, 2009, courtesy of Duck Down Records. B-Real produced a number of songs on the project as well, including the lead track “Fire” with Damian Marley. Smoke N Mirrors also features appearances by Snoop Dogg, Too Short and Sen Dog, of Cypress Hill.
