Last night I randomly stumbled upon the crayon sculptures of Herb Williams, and I must say that I love where this guy’s head is at. He creates an interesting dichotomy by using what many people would consider a childish medium to target “issues dealing with more adult matters.” He’s made some interesting pieces with other small objects – such as sharks made from poker chips and player cards – but his crayon sculptures are definitely the coolest. On his website he claims to be the only individual with an account at Crayola, and says that his intent is “to continue to seriously create art that looks at itself unseriously.” What a pimp. Check out a gallery of his work after the jump.
