The Heartless Bastards have just announced their new album, “The Mountain” will drop January 20, 2009. Its been almost three years since their last disc, “All This Time” was released to critical acclaim. Rolling Stone remarked “The Heartless Bastards are a small-town band who are ready to show the big city no mercy.”
RUNNIN BY THE HEARTLESS BASTARDS:
After seeing the now three piece band perform late night at Emo’s in Austin, it’s clear that things definitely have not changed. Even with a revamped band to back Erika Wennerstrom’s massive vocals and soulful sound, they still deliver like a garage band that could also rock an arena. Erika holed up in an apartment for 6 months to write “The Mountain,” and with help from producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead), there’s no doubt this album will have been worth the wait.
